Swearing-In and Shift from EALA to National Assembly

Denis Namara was officially sworn in at the Parliament of Uganda during the formal inauguration ceremonies for the 12th Parliament, securing his transition to the National Assembly after defeating longtime incumbent Barnabas Tinkasiimire in the general elections. Following his official induction, Speaker Anita Among confirmed to the house that she received an official communication from the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) Speaker declaring Namara’s regional seat officially vacant. This procedural milestone concluded his distinguished tenure in the regional assembly, prompting the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Electoral Commission and a parliamentary verification committee to organize by-elections to replace his vacant regional seat.
