Hon. Namara Dennis, a trained lawyer and newly elected legislator representing Buyaga West County, has formally declared his candidacy for the Deputy Speakership of the 12th Parliament. Asserting that he is the most qualified leader for the role, Namara’s legislative agenda centers on championing critical economic reforms aimed at driving Uganda’s ambitious goal of achieving ten-fold economic growth under the Fourth National Development Plan (NDP IV). Drawing on his extensive experience as the former Chairperson of the influential East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) Budget Committee, he has pledged to guide the house with strict fiscal discipline, promising to prioritize national development over political friction while challenging the status quo head-on.
